Problems with drivers side windshield wiper

Last night the driver side windshield wiper suddenly decided to stop working. Made for a fun evening as of course it was pissing rain. Anyway tonight I'm suppose to go skiing but that's only going to happen if I can some how fix this problems.

All I can tell you is that

- The wiper was working then all of the sudden I just stopped moving.
- The passenger side wiper works fine.
- When I checked the driver side wiper there was no tension in it. I could move it freely across the windshield.

I opened up the hood but it looks like a the mechanicals are all hidden. I figure I'll have to bring it into the dealer first thing tomorrow but I thought I might give this a go. I wonder if this would be covered under the warrantee?

Should absolutely positively be covered! Unless of course you've exceded your miles?

Hmmm, sounds like the gear is stripped or soemthing. You didn't turn them on while they were frozen to the window did you? Even if you didn't, don't be surprised if the dealer accuses you of it.

Make the bastards fix it!

Chuck I think that's what the problem is. Funny never happened in two years of living in snowy cold Montreal.

Man what a pain. I was really looking forward to all that nice powder.

Took it into the dealer this morning. Turn out the linkage between the two wipers was broken. They had to order the part from Edmonton so now I'm Xless until tomorrow :( .

In the mean time I have a one rocking Sentra to drive that the dealer lent me .

I also made arrangements to finally have my windshield washer fluid tank fixed. Look like I took out both of the motor in my "bumper accident". Will be nice to have it working for the Vancouver Island trip.

Damn! I was looking forward to watching you hop out every 3 miles with the squeeze bottle and chamois again! :D

I am having this exact same problem!! How much did they rape you for to fix it??

Is it something I could fix myself?
