i don't think the fact that it was bb or not was argued very much.. as far as i know, pretty much everybody already knew that

well everyone kept saying the s15 had a better SR cuz it was BB, but then the thread got closed.

*OFF TOPIC, but i started thread so i dont care if i pirate my own thread*

D-bo, is it more expensive to live in canada? i keep telling my family we should go visit there, or when grow up i want to go move there. But my parents are like "blah blah, it costs more to live in canada because the jobs pay the same, but everything costs more."

Is that true or are they just dumb in the head?

they're just delayed, thats all

canada has everything from 110°F summer days to -45°C winter days.. some parts never get snow, others get it for 4 months, others are covered year-round.. you can live on a farm in the praries, in a city like toronto.. i feel like i'm advertising my country... oh well its one hell of a country i must say..

Shit doesn't cost more, it's a myth, prices are higher, but we make more money so it doesn't cost more. And it's safer, everything is less strict, like here you won't see jail time if you don't have an emissions legal car. lol

if your going to move to canada. i recommend that you move to a place where you can easily go across teh border to the states to buy stuff...15% tax on stuff in canada (% may vary in different hoods)

logik23
01-13-2005, 12:47 PM
You have to pay for everything you buy when you bring it back over the border, it comes back to the same, or usually more, or you can say you didn't buy shit, they check your car and put u in jail.

slickSX
01-13-2005, 12:52 PM
that's true...but if what you buy is on the car already. they wouldn't know. lol

some advice: don't smuggle birds over. some jag off is doing some serious time for doing that stuff lmao

Some people are so stupid.....like this guy in Montreal, he stole a Prelude about 3 weeks ago, didn't change the plates or the VIN and put in about 7000$ of mods, they cops find the car and return it to the owners, with all the upgrades. lol

slickSX
01-13-2005, 01:35 PM
lmao....check this one out. Some genius jacks a car and takes it to the races. the owner's crew is at those races and he challenges one of them....that guy is a winner and suffered a beat down from them and the cops.

its really easy to get across the border with shit.. i know cause i'm only an hour away.. i'm sure logik is about the same and anybody who lives in toronto can drive 45 mins to new york state.. thats 3 of the 4 biggest cities in canada within 6 hours of eachother but all within an hour of the border.. bringing shit across is no problem if you're smart about it.. there are some things you can bring back, others you could try and others that are just plain stupid.. i'm planning on going to NY to buy and install my exhaust so that i basically buy it duty free.. no canadian tax on it.. and tax doesn't vary in different "hoods" here.. it depends on what you're buying.. there's general sales tax and provincial sales tax.. sometimes you only pay gst, like i said, depending on the product

Hit_N_Run-player

i pay an 8% sales tax on everything i buy, i hate it. Oregon is only 30-45 min away though and they dont have tax so i just head down there when i want to buy stuff.

logik23
01-13-2005, 09:59 PM
Oooohh 8% wow, I pay 15%! And yeah, I love where I live, 5-6 hours from Toronto, 2-3 hours from Ottawa, 2-3 hours from Quebec City (shitty tuner culture, but damn nice roads!)

ummm, yeah logik i heard the first person who said it "oooooh, Wow, YOU PAY 15%"............

yeah for sure, we have some ridiculous roads in the hills across the river (in quebec).. they're amazing for 2-3 hour cruises.. i've been up there at 1am in a buddy's 2002 sentra se-r spec v along with a TT supra, acura el with a h22 + turbo, 01 vette, a couple of half decent civics and a shop eclipse.. they just scream along these roads and its a hell of a lot of fun.. those are the best drives. i never saw ONE car on the road that night besides the ones with us.. i'll be in on it next summer hopefully..

slickSX
01-14-2005, 11:45 AM
damn 2-3 hour cruzes...no cops or stops? that sounds f'n fun. wish i had roads like that out here :-(

is quebec located anywhere near ottawa?

D-Bo
01-14-2005, 12:01 PM
yeah we'd go for 45 mins at a time, stop for a smoke or somethin.. go again... and so on.. it wouldn't be 2-3 hours of driving, we'd just be out there for that long.. at least we were that night.. and the cops don't go in the gatineau park (name of the area with all the mountains and hills) .. its actually supposed to be closed at night.. in the winter we go to the ski hills at 1am with our GT snow racers, sneak up the hills and hide from the groomers then race down and almost kill ourselves.. good times..

ottawa is a pretty big area.. the 'outaouais' is the real name (its french). this includes ottawa (which is now a mega-city instead of having divided districts) and hull (which is in the province of quebec). all you gotta do is cross one of 5 bridges and you're in hull.. there's basically no difference.. kinda like a river going through a big city.. quebec on one side and ontario on the other. i can see the hills from my house but it takes me 45 minutes to drive to the closest one. its actually on the same chain of hills that mont tremblant is in (one of the biggest ski resorts in eastern canada) and is probably less than an hour from logik.. ottawa is actually a bilingual city, its actually harder to get a job if you don't speak french.. summers are amazing here.. it gets crazy hot, we have some sweet beaches and lotsa nice broads.. i guess thats enough.. i just really like living here i guess..

i have family out in toronto and ottawa. going to be in the ottawa area this summer. and was thiking of checking out that road you were talking about, and dog the hell out of my uncles station wagon lol. but if its hella far then i'll just have to imagine how it is.

i haven't been out there in a long while, but i do remember its usually humid in toronto during the summer, right?

D-Bo
01-14-2005, 12:56 PM
both toronto and ottawa.. just ask your relatives about the gatineau park and they'll show you the roads.. either that or go drive along the canal at 4am.. it twists and turns more than a 3-foot turd

logik23
01-14-2005, 07:04 PM
Damn, I gotta check that shit out, maybe get my cousin to go to, he's got a 300whp 1991 Celica.

D-Bo
01-14-2005, 07:26 PM
the canal is about 11km long.. lots of fun cause the pavement is always in good condition.. the problem with the canal, though, is that you can see cars on it from a lot of different places so its really easy to get caught.. but the gatineau hills are ridiculous.. ask anybody whos been there.. i can't wait for my suspension to go in and get new tires.. and logik, i know a guy in brockville with an s13 + sr20det.. running 13s 1/4 mile.. he's done the whole thing up, its really nice.. so me and him are gonna cruise next summer, you should get a car to join us

I'm getting the Altima after the winter, maybe I'll have enough $ for new rims and tires, or at least lowering springs, but I'll still try to push it. ;-)

D-Bo
01-15-2005, 01:51 AM
yeah push it every once in a while but i wouldn't invest that kind of money in an altima if you've always wanted a 240.. save up for a 240. seriously

logik23
01-15-2005, 12:41 PM
I can sell it for like 4000$ easy, even 4500$, with cool rims on it, I'm sure 5000$.

Hit_N_Run-player

what kind of altima are you getting logik?

My dads old one, it's a 1994, 5 speed, paint is near mint, interior to, black outside, tan cloth inside. Only thing wrong with it is no sunroof...but I can live with it and the shitty wheel covers lol. I'm thinking I could try to find Sentra SE-R rims from the model from 2 years ago.
