95 eclipse intake.

my g/f has a 95 blue eclipse rs and its automatic.. all i can say is its incredibly slow. seems like all its power is up top. so shes sellin her car anyway in a few months.. so i got an ebay intake for cheap.. i put it in today and it took about 10 mins. and im not even gonna bother resetin the ecu on a mitsubishi. well anyways what im gettin at here is i think it may by losin power bc it has a 3 inch diameter and its made out of aluminum.
what do u all think about this oversize hot air intake? definitly wasn't tryin to buy it cuz of hp but for the sound.. it doesnt sound as good as i would thought and it doesnt even make a hiss when i turn off the car. :(

can it beat you your sentra and to reset the ecu i believe all you have to do is take off the battery terminals for a half hour

on my 96 gs all you gotta do to reset the ecu is take the terminal off for like 30 seconds. im not sure if a auto ecu is the same as my manual but it should be similar. as far as power it isnt going to add much of anything, but i dont think it will take much either. if you free up ristiction, you loose a lil on the low end and gain some on the high end. if you add restriction you loose high end but gain low end. so adding the higher flowing intake may have sacrificed a very small amount of low end but i dont think it would be noticable.

nice eclipse, ever since i was little i wanted one that was that same color and everything.. and the rims look sweet too.. but anyways

i kno how to reset the ecu but i didnt wanna screw anything up. it seems to be idling higher like around 1-1.2grand and i definitly need to get some heat wrap. i guess ill reset the ecu on it.. and just hope for the best.

as for the first question, yes my sentra smoked the shit out of the eclipse.. we went from a dig and went up to 80 and i had put a few bus lenghts on her.

did it just start idleing higher when you installed the intake?

yea i think so... there was only one thing needed to be connected and that was the vaccum sensor, is there a MAF that i need to connect?
