I have a 1977 F-250 camper special super cab 2 wd longbox with 373 cubic inch engine in it. It runs fantastic, and body work is in excellent shape just minor rust along the wheel wells but everything else is meticulous. Its got about 8600 miles on it now. Never driven it for four years now, my grandpa bought a newer truck, its 1994 GMC, its a awesome truck. The only thing I need right now is to install new batteries, went dead. This truck operates like new, came with a camper. The camper is in excellent condition, just the furnace not working, don't think it will cost that much, but anyway we use the camper for our GMC. Sooner or later I will completely restore and rebuild my 1977 F-250. There will be some minor changes to it. Like change it to 4 wheel drive with manual transfer case shift, change it to crew cab but with a short box on the same base form, make it a little sportier, like designing it for off-roading, but won't occasionally use it off-road. I know this is going to be a lot of money spending, but I just want to keep it forever. So is all I can think of right now, if more things come up, will talk some more later.

If you want to keep it forever keep it like it is and don't take it off road intentionally.

Im havin a hard time trying to figure out what the minor changes are. Everything you talked about requires extensive modification. Keep the truck original and find a beater to restore. It'll be cheaper and safer.
