Progress: Escalade

I bought this a couple of days ago from a LHS while i wait for my infinitely more exciting order from HLJ.
It is the Revell 2 in 1 Escalade in 1/25 scale, which for a Revell i think is really well molded/tooled with virtually no mold lines or flash on the body. Also all the underneath of the car is molded in flat black which will save some time and painting.

Here are some pics of my progres so far:
Here it is primed. The body colour will be Gun Metal.

And the interior is a 2 tone grey. I was thinking of doing some more of the interior in the lighter grey, but not sure which parts. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

The underside. The 2 parts ringed in red will be painted black. I am wondering whether or not to paint the engine and other bits silver?

The exhaust tips made from REAL METAL!! :eek7: Revell pushing the boat out :icon16:

And last the brake disc. I think i will black wash and paint the calliper red or something.

Thanks guys. This thing is quite simple, so it shouldn't take too long to complete. I mainly want to do as clean a build as possible. That's why I'm putting off doing the Body colour :uhoh:. I always manage to screw it up some how, so i just have to be very careful.

Hi Mike!! The reason i haven't posted anything in a while is because i haven't done anything worth posting for a while. I got a Revell Enzo and was working on that but to start with i did a bit of an experimental paint job which didn't turn out to hot, in fact it was a total disaster . Then i got to doing the inards and nothing fit properly. And i mean nothing, so i got fed up with it and put it in a box probably never to see the light of day again.
Anyway i've got some kits on the way from good old HLJ, so they will keep me busy for a bit. I'll probably post some pics of 'em when i get 'em.

I know what you mean. IMO, Revell did a "great" effort on theyr latest kits compared to the older ones.

So now it's on you, keep up the good work Tikiman. :bigthumb:

Just painted a few coats of Tamiya gun metal. Came out practically flawlesss, for a change, but still needs clear coating.
