2001 Sebring Sedan Water Leak

I have read many postings about the water leaks for the Sebring convertible but not for the sedan or coupe. Well, have no fear, I have a water leak in my sedan. After great investigation by the dealer they have finally found it. The windshield is the culprit! I have also read that Chrysler has had a problem with water leaking in older vehicles, prior to 2000. I would have thought they would have stopped in by now or at least enough compaints would have prompted them to correct the situation. I plan on filing a complaint with Chrsylser about this and see if I can recoup at least a portion of the $330 that it has cost me. I have been told water leaks are not covered by the extended warranty.
Has anyone else had this problem with the newer cars and what did they do for you? Any feed back is appreciated.

KrisLizBeth,
the leak was on the passenger side of the windshield, at the bottom. they had to reseal it and so far, no water. They actually took the door panels, and dash out to find the leak. Of course, that meant putting a hose to it so they could find the leak. I used a shopvac to get most of the water out and uses a hair dryer also. They may have to remove the complete windshield and reseal the whole thing. But the resealing of the windshield definitely worked. Hope this helps.

I am probably too late to help you guys, but here goes.... i own a 2001 chrysler sebring lxi sedan. I jusd drained the water out of the rear passenger door today 5/20. it bugged me for days to hear the sloshing an not know where it came from until i saw the drips from the back door. the rubber lining at the bottom can be moved or removed and allow the water to drain quicker. I dont know for sure but I feel on heavy rains, the water simply runs down the window into the door panel. As for the wet carpet, I have had that situation since I bought the car used in 2005. In my case, the water only wets the carpet when i drive on wet roads. when it rains, i check the carpet before driving, and it's dry. If i drive long enough, the carpet becomes wet. It is a growing problem; seems to come behind the front passenger fender flap. One time I tried the bootleg and removed the fender to place plastic behind the rubber fender guard. It actually trapped the water more. It is a bad design, and I am not surprised Chrysler is in trouble; all the ac/ blower / engine problems have been there since 1998 or longer, and I still see 2005 models with the same problems as my 01.
