I am looking for a car to restore. I found a 1975 vette that has its engine stripped to the block. The seller says that they have all of the parts there required to rebuild the engine, but I find that doubtful The interior of the car is decent. No rips or tears in the leather. Faded and dusty from the pictures. The bumpers will need replaced, but other than that the body looks in good shape. The seller started to strip the paint, but lost intrest. It is now listed at 2200. How much is it actually worth, and how much will i need to put into it to restore it?

i'm almost finished my 75 project . i paid 4 thousand for it and spent 13,000 on it.it will be on the road this year.
the car had the matching #s engine and 30,00 original miles.
the little things will eat you alive ,weather spripping kits are 500 bucks, mirrors are 100, stainless steel springs for the e-brake are 1 hundred, and so on..set aside at minimum 500 dollars to adress the brakes(not including e-brake)
these are nice cars but will eat a poor man alive.lol.mike

A friend of mine found a '74 that was running and had a new amateur paint job that looks great if you don't get real close. It needed alot of little things, new door panels and a master cylinder. I think the dash was disassembled to some degree, but again running for $3000. He'll have a fun little driver for under $5000.

I found last week, a 42,000 actual mile '78 Silver Anniversary, excellent shape, but the paint has been polished alittle thin in places for $7500.00. It still looks great though and needs nothing, perfect interior, Vette alloys, glass roofs and new tires.

Their out there, if you don't get in a hurry.

this is average price but one major thing to look for is the back frame corners before the rear wheels these car rust there and can be very dangerst.my 74 's frame had to be repaired.i also had to replace my trailing arms because of rust.

1975 Vette...partially stripped engin/? Body? If he started to use a chemical stripper on it stay away! If you're looking to make it a decent car plan on spending alot $$$ (even if you do ALL of the work yourself). You might be better off spending a bit more and finding a complete car.
