Okay Guys,
I need someone who has experience with cam measuring and installing. I just recieved from ebay, what is supposed to be a Type r intake camshaft. I measured the total VTEC (mid lobe) height with a caliper and i got:
1.451" or 36.86mm, this exactly agrees with my official honda manual.
I then measured the lobe lift (not valve lift) by measuring the diameter of the base circle and subtracting it from the above lobe height and i got:
0.285" or 7.24mm,
now, the honda manual doesnt publish the value of lobe lift, so i don't know what value i should be getting. However i looked on some websites that said the value should be 0.290", Which is 0.005" more than what i have.Does a camshaft actually have to be installed to properly measure the lift? I noticed that the rocker to cam clearence for a vtec integra is 0.005", could this have somwething to do with it?
