Warranty and dead battery

I apologize if this question has already been asked, just bear with me. If you had something done to your car while it was still under warranty, i.e. foggy head lights, and the condition reoccurs, is it still covered even after the warranty expires?
Fortunately, this has not happened to me, just curious.
On another note, since I got relocated to Japan, my car has been in storage. I went to the company's website to check on the storage status, and under the notes section, it states that my battery is dead, reading 8 volts. Now, the company is supposed to run the car at least once a month and check the vitals. Is seven months long enough for the battery to go dead with the car not being driven for a prolonged time?:disappoin:wtf:
Thanks for your input,
Johei
