Can anybody tell me how to program a keyless remote on a 1999 eclipse?

actully thanks for this post. I just found out my GST has keyless entry and i didn't have the remote. Just bought one off ebay for $18 shipped. Not a bad deal!

yeah i found out my eclipse had keyless about a year after i bought it.. i too bought a remote off ebay and am thouroughly pleased lol

I may sound like a dumb ass, but how do you know if you have keyless entry? What do i look for?

If you have factory keyless entry, then there will be a green security light in your instrument cluster that will flash once you have your doors locked and closed. If you don't have that flashing light, then you don't have keyless entry.

Yea, I didn't have it either, but I really wanted it, so I just bought an aftermarket one from bestbuy. Can't imaging living without it now.

By the way, is there anyway to make the lift gate keyless if you buy a new remote with the option?

Are you sure? Because i have that Green Security Light that lights up when both doors are locked, but i'm almost positive i don't have keyless entry, unless the dealer lied to me and was attempting to screw me.

I am very sure, if you have the green Security light that flashes, you should have factory keyless entry. Its also listed in the owners menu that explains the green flashing Security light. If you don't want to just buy a remote to try it out, take over your rear driver side panel, where your rear speaker is and the brain for the keyless entry should be in there. But its almost easier to spend $15 on a remore to try it out.

i had to have my dealership do it, cause i couldn't figure it out even with the directions.

I called the dealership today with my vin number. They told me that it wasn't listed as an installed option, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't standard equipment. The hooked me up with parts then, who took my whole vin. The guy said he's 80% sure that my car has the factory keyless entry system, but he says even if i do have the security light, that it's possible to not have have keyless entry. He said the Anti-Theft and the Keyless Entry are separate. Whether he's right or not, I don't wanna take the car down to him like he's asking me to so he can charge me to "check" if i have keyless entry.

Anyways, i checked both of my rear speaker panels. And maybe it's because my car's a spyder, or i'm not looking in the right spot, but i can't find the reciever for the keyless entry. Is it behind the rear speaker?

Ok, another way to see if you have the keyless entry is to close your doors, hatch and hood, roll your windows down. Lock the doors with your key, and then wait about 30secs, then open the lock from inside the car and open the door. If the alarm start going off, then you have the factory keyless entry.

I might as well stop doubting it and take it as the good news that it is. Thanks, guys. :) Next step is to get a remote off e-bay.
