I have a 2002 ex with vtec. My vtec engages way late (redline) to late for me. I dont know why but i would like to fix this prob. I know there is a way to adjust my vtec to make the engagement time faster. I would like it to click in at around 5000-5500 rpm. If you have pics on how or could explain in detail that would be great.

first off your car is brand spankin new so if there is something wrong use the warranty...the is part of what your paying for when you buy a car though manufaturers will not admit to it readily.
second off, what do you have done to the car to justify altering the vtec engagement point? 9.9 times out of ten altering the vtec point from factory on a stock or near stock car will hurt gains not help them.

I am puttin an AEM short ram on it ( cant put a cai on). I have to go for an oil change at the dealer in a week or so. Should i just ask the guy then to adjust the engagement of the vtec then or no. I dont know how to do it otherwise i would do it myself

vtec engagement is sensor based and is triggered by the ecu. you have an obd3 ecu and they havent even figured out a way to alter obd2 ecu's let alone obd3. maybe in about 15 years it could happen but as of right now you cant unless you get some sort of piggyback system. besides if your factory vtec was screwed up you would be throwing a check engine light. just ask the mechanic to see if its working right.

Take it back to Honda......don't even touch the VTEC Timing yourself...you won't benefit from it.........Messing with the Vtec Timing should be one of the last mods you perform to the car.

What is this "VTEC" you speak of? It sounds like an interesting theory and I'd love to hear more about it...

2002 ex...standard or auto?
One of my friends have a 2001 ex auto and he's never able to rev above ..something to hit vtec
My other friend just ordered a 2002 ex stick, and when we test drove it, vtec never seemed to kick in nor make that sweet sound as in the prelude and yes he did rev all the way (too bad he put it in a ditch, so I was never able to drive it :( --yes the test vehicle, otherwise I could actually see for myself) I *think* vtec ingages very early in the 2002 so you don't really feel anything.
