4x4 Parts rebuilding

Has anyone ever rebuilt the encoder motor or maybe the TCCM? I would love to know WHY these parts keep failing... Mine's out again and I want to find a better repair than just replacing the pieces over and over.
I'm very tempted to pull mine out just to look at them and figure it out...
