Nitrous On Turbo DSM

After reading about that auto (i think) eclipse running like 10's on just nitrous alone and stock turbo, I started thinking about nitrous. And I think a 75 shot gave smithey from NABR about, well, 75 or so hp. So there are *some* turbo dsms using it. So why isn't everyone using it?
Edit: Forgot to mention, anyone hear about that new car that was just shown at some euro auto show. I think it might have been an MG. Anyway, I guess there are 2 versions: a non-nitrous like 300-400hp and a nitrous 900HP! version. So if MG is putting on it's car stock then...
Look at what this site says about it.
http://www.diamondstarmotorsport.com/nitrousparts.shtml
"We have been back on the bottle for 2004 and it makes us wonder why everyone is so afraid of using nitrous. It works SO well.
It has taken our stock engine/stock turbo/2850lb 1g awd from mid 12's @ 109 to
mid 11's @ 119.
Completely safe for stock 4G63 engines. A stock 4G63 can make about 400WHP with no problems. Nitrous is no more damaging to your engine than a 400whp capable turbo if it is tuned correctly, despite what Hollywood says."

Do you have a link to the stock eclipse turbo that ran 10s with only nitrous? Cause from my experiance there is no possible way without ruining something!
I run a 100 shot direct port set up on my RST but mainly its used for only spooling the turbo. Other than that I dont use it cause the ECU pulls timing way to much.
There are a lot of people running nitrous on turbo DSMs and getting great times from it, I plan on running it on my spyder. Just make sure its set up right and everything is equiped to handle it.

I'll try to find the link. It was either on here or on tuners I'm pretty sure.
btw, your sig is hallarious.

I don't think it's the fear of blowing something up that keeps people away from nitrous. I'm thinking it's the extra tuning you have to do for using the nitrous. At least, that's the only thing that is keeping me far away from it ;) . Hell, it's hard enough for me to tune with no-nitrous, and I even have dsmlink! :)

Yeah, without DSMlink I dont think I would even consider it (or some standalone with similar features). Awesome nitrous controls in DSMlink. And most poeple are using them to control 2 stage boost controllers on thier FWDs, water injection kits, etc, lol. Pelnty of people run nitrous, check the www.DSMtimes.org page. I think that has a yes/no collumn for nitrous. I'd like to try it someday, I boguht my BJs manifold with nitrous bungs welded in just in case. The real issue is that tuning with the turbo alone can be enough work. Tuning with nitrous alone can also be a handfull. Tuning with BOTH TOGETHER can be a royal pain in the ass, and its an expensive learning curve.
A couple random thoughts... A 14b powered 1g has also run mid 11s with no nitrous, for whatever thats worth. Up to a 100 shot tends to add 50 more HP than you expect it to just from the cooling effect (not a big deal on a NT car, but that can be substantial on a turbo car with its much higher charge temps). Over that it tends to make more sense. The smallest shot you can typically run on a direct port setup is 80 in most cases. With a single fogger setup I worry about distribution, but people are doing it successfully for sure. In my opinion the only time nitrous is really justified is if you simply cant increase the size of your turbo, minly for lag reasons (either the motor cant physically spool it, or its a street car with a "normal" redline and you want more track performance).
Its being done on DSMs, you just dont hear much about it because the people that run it are the poeple that arent exactly post whores. Not a lot of info about it, but its out there if you look. :)

I think the common thing is backwards from stock turbo, nitrous running fast. In reality people are running fast on big turbos no nitrous, which is awesome when you can say you don't run nitrous. Anyway, if you wanted to run 10's on nitrous, you would need all the supporting mods for the turbo too, so I call BS on the 10 seconds on a 14b/t25 :)

I have a 75 shot on my car. And I can tell you tuning is a pain. I have only had it set up for about 4 or 5 weeks and I have used it maybe twice.

I know what you're saying and the poeple in the thread that I read about it in called bs too until people showed up that knew the guy/had pics of his setup/etc etc. I swear it was on tuners, I just can't find it yet. I probly have it bookmarked somewhere. No one else saw what I'm talking about? It was a guy who had just t-25 (possibly 14b), he was like fwd or auto or some crazy shit and just had nitrous and ran around 10s 11s, something like that. Everyone called bs but then they were just like "wow, that's crazy." Some guy said "just cause they're not doing it the typical way doesn't mean it's not as good" or something along those lines.
About that MG though, I just thought it was kind of crazy that they're putting a 500+ shot (or whatever, I'm not a nitrous expert) on the car STOCK.

I actually could see it happening on a 14b if the guy was already in the 11s w/o nitrous. And if in fact he did run a 10 sec pass it was probably a very high 10. But that is insane to think 6-700 for a nitrous system plus about 1500 for exhaust and someother free mods could get you into the 10s... Fuck, I'm gunna go pick up that 92 TSI for a grand that I was looking at and see if I can hit 10s for under $4000 with the cost of the car. Damn that would be tight as hell... To hell with spending 11k on a motor for the spyder to run a 10 sec pass!

And you can now even get the 1g DSMlink to tune that beast too! It would probably help A LOT (especially with link's nitrous controls) getting into the 10's using nitrous :) .

AHA, fuck yeah! It took A LOT of searching but I finally found the thread I was talking about. Jeeze.
It is a GST running 11.149. He is using 140 shot of nitrous on STOCK T-25, fuel, and ignition. All stock. And 26" slicks and weight reduction at 2550lbs. It may or may not be 2.4L. There's also a vid in the post.

I guess with the 500+ pound weight reduction it's not really fair to compare it to a normal street car. It has only the metal on the doors and the interior is not something I would want to drive around in. But still for a FWD it seems impressive to me.
And here's some links I found to some basic nitrous info to anyone who is interested in learning about it.
