speaker grill removal

i have an 03 silverado ext cab with a bose system and the speaker on the driver side is making a buzzing sound. i suspect that the speaker is loose but the only way i can check is by removing the grill. does anyone know how to remove the speaker grill??? please help!

I don't think the grill comes out... I think you have to take the door panel off. There are a few other threads on here about removing the door panels... couple of bolts, lift up, remove the power wires... I've taken my door panels off before and it's pretty easy.

He's right. You can remove the grilles, but you have to do it from the inside of the door panel. It isn't hard to remove, though. :smile:

i had alot of speaker related rattling in my 1999 door panels, i took them off and put thin strips of duct tape between every plastic-to-plastic contact site, and for the speaker grilles i bent the tabs all up, pulled the grille off, and put just enough duct tape on each tab to cover both sides, then reinstalled it and made sure the tabs were bent firmly. I now have no more rattling except from somewhere in the back seat.... :mad: dont know if this helps but its a thought, worked for me.

I had a rattling sound from my pasenger speaker, removed it and it was blown, the whole speaker surround was gone!! lol Bet that wont happen again.
