has anyone seen the final design for the 4g eclipse if not

it looks like a 2g a 3g and a celica had a baby... personaly i think that if they would just bring back something like the 2g with a bit of different body kits and maby a bit more passenger room... + a turbocharged inline or V-6 option... that would be AWSOME! can we petition mistubishi for a them to bring back the old body style?

Those pics have been out for about 8-9 months now. Personally I can almost gaurantee they will never make another turboed eclipse. Mitsu has the Evo for speed, why would they make another turbocharged car when most people today are looking for an economical car.

Yeah, the pictures of that car have been out for atleast 9 months now... The original concept pics have been out for over a year, here is a thread were I posted a link to the pictures (November 2003) ...That makes it 1yr 2months.


BTW: Its not a concept anymore, its being produced now.

look on the 2006 mitsu web site. click auto show schedual on the bottom. it shows the first showing of the car was in LA on January 7th 2005. on that window that pops up click view autoshow web cast, you can see the launch anocement on VIDEO.

I know far from all... But when people tell me I dont know what I am talking about, I then turn around and prove you wrong! That pic you just posted has been out for over a year and the other pics (current look) came out about 4-5 months after that thru spy's.

Another thing... they started production 1-03-05, the release date is August 2005... So therefor it is no longer a concept car. I know people who work for mitsu and I have a lot of connections through them... I have been very interested in this car and I have been researching it since there was talk about a 4g! Right now I have my name on the first one that comes into Minneapolis/St Paul, MN (refundable deposit). I like what they have to offer and I am currently working with my boss to make and sell the first turbo and supercharge kit for it. I know a lot more than you think I do so dont open your mouth if you dont know or you think you know.

i like the final prototype much more then the first concept i still dont like the headlights though. the side view look kinda like a 2g. i just wish it was awd turbo and about 40g's cheaper.

i think it looks ok. the interior is blah. i dont like the gauge pods

I thought that was just all but talk and plans, nothing serious, from Nissan. Are they really going to release one in US? I mean ive heard all about it, but i didnt think it was true.

Oh yea the final car would have been better if it kept the 470 hp mark (or however much it was with the hybrid) and the cool looking side exhausts. It still looks like a family/pussy sports car than a real sports car IMO.

That thing will look sick with some diffrent headlights and a bodykit, maybe a small spoiler. Oh, and if you just look at the front end (cover the rest with your hand) it kind of resembles a minivan because of the hood IMO :lol: Anyways, Jake, man how can you get enough cash to buy a 4g Eclipse, then a year or two later get a new freaking Skyline? THEN! pay insurance and mod cost for those beasts?

I never said I was buying the 4g... I put a deposit down so if I do like it and it seems like it has a lot of potential I will buy it but it probably wont happen.

I have 2 years until the Skyline even comes out if it does... I make pretty good money and even if I did buy the 4g I could probably swing the Skyline too.

I really dont like either of them. The Skyline is just not the same anymore. I heard their going to lose the L6 TT, is this true for the Skyline?

i think i could see it looking nice if they put something like the 2g tail light on and... TAKE THE CELICA WANNA BE HEADLIGHTS OFF! god those look whorid... there definatly has some of thr 2g style in there but not enough for my likings...

The 4g isnt all that bad. And 260hp isnt a bad starting point either.

This may seem wierd, but I definitely think if they had it model in a different color than orange (maybe even copperhead orange),it would look a lot better. In all honesty, it looks alot like the 2g eclipse. The front just doesn't have the agressive "try and race me and i'll kick your ass" look like the 97-99 2g has. It's almost a blending of the 95-96 happy-face, smiling "Wow, isn't today a nice sunny day for tearing the streets up" look with the 97-99 look mentioned above. The headlights don't help much either. But overall, i think it's a MUCH better improvement over the 3g eclipse. Who knows, maybe they'll bring out an awd drivetrain for that 260hp v-6. They have one for the Endeavor, so it's not like they don't do awd anymore.

EDIT:Forget orange all together, i just saw the copperhead orange in the pics... maybe if they had painted it midnight blue, or gunmetal, or something...

or BLACK/RED!!! i love eclipses in those 2 colors my RS is red SOOO SEXY!!!

I personally like it alot better than the 3g. It resembles the 2g more but with the "updated" look EXCEPT it sorta looks like the new neon srt-4 from the front, imo.

What engine is is the 4g? And how will it hold up to turbo charging..

I'd love to get the V6 and throw a turbo on it.

Amen. If Mitsu refuses to put another AWD 4G63T (or similar drivetrain/motor) in a nice two door, than I guess me and my hard earned play money will go elsewhere.

We all need to put our names on a list and send it to Mitsubishi. We'll tell them it's a mailing list which they can use inform us if they ever decide to make fast, inexpensive, attractive sport compacts again.:disappoin

the new eclipse looks like a cross between a 350Z and a Tiburon. Also, the Mitsubishi plant is like 5 minutes away from my house and I havent seen any being taken outside

HAHA... My buddy (he is loaded) got a RX-8 on new years eve. We managed to shatter the rear end within 4 straight hrs of pounding the shit out of it after he bought it. :lol2: We were on a mission to see what it could handle cause its covered under warrenty. And god damn. Them cars are strong and fast too! I have never been in a stock car that was more fun to go sideways in then this RX-8. When you start sliding sideways, the computer automatically gives it more gas and trys to correct the steering wheel for you. There for if you have a good enough grip on the wheel its like a power band that never ends! We managed to get it up to 165mph before we ran out of road, this is the conversation we had when we picked the car up from the guy at the dealer

Salesman: "I'm sorry guys"
Us: "THE CAR'S NOT READY! :("
Salesman: "Yes it is ready"
Us: "Whoa, you had us worried. Why are you sorry?"

Shit, if 5 minutes of beating the shit out of my car would have left my stranded on the side of the road. But damn, 4 hrs straight makes me think I should get a new car! Anyways if anyone is looking at them in the near future, I would not hesitate to buy one! Definately a fun, fast, RELIABLE car. ;)
