Best Car for Street

)I realize the idea has been killed, but I'm relatively new to the whole scene...
What would be a good, comprehensive list of cars for turning into a street project? So far I've turned down a 97'ish sunfire 4 cyl for $152, but engine needed to be replaced (found out this was a biiiiiig mistake in the making, cuz there is almost no engine that will fit besides the same piece of junk :nono: ) credit to my friends at All Tune, and I found an I4 DOHC 16 valve 95 MX-6 at the salvage yard for $500, but needs new exhaust (falling off) and new air filter.
I'm still loookin but there is nothing here in Va Beach.... i hate the "commonwealth"...
Any suggestions for cars to be on the lookout for that will be beast once the usual street applications are put on? I don't want anything to do with cameros, mustangs, firebirds, etc... yes, I'm looking for a car to "rice out", but can still go at it. (im such a :loser: )
AWD, FWD, or RWD, all have good applications
I want something that I can buy from an Auction or find from somewhere for cheap, not $500 cheap, but cheap enough that I can afford it before next summer
I want something that can be driven as street or taken to the drag strip and can have a little fun.
I want something I can run hard and fast. I drive an 01 wrangler but still beat the shit out of some of the street boys around here.
Problem is, wranglers WERE NOT MADE FOR STREET RACING (hehe) :screwy: but i guess that's just me

This idea has been beat well to death. What are you looking for? FWD, AWD, RWD? Autocross, drag, just going fast? Standard or Auto? How much are you looking to spend? Will it just be for racing, or anything else? Once you get those questions answered, you'd be able to bring it down to a few cars.

Get yourself a nice little 92-95 civic and put APC altezzas and a HUGE muffler tip on it. Don't even bother swapping out the whole exhaust...just go for the tip from like..wal mart..or auto zone, preferably from the fast and the furious parts collection. Then, buy two cheap rims. Just two. You only need them in the rear. Then, search the internet for hours on end until you can find the BIGGEST "Powered by Honda" sticker you can possibly find, along with the biggest most obnoxious wing you can find. Now if you have a huge budget...you can invest in some performance mods. NOS stickets, Apex'i stickers, Veilside stickers, random window banner from some random motorsports place you've never even had work done from, and maybe some mugen stickers. After all that...you're ready to go slaughter LS1s, mustang cobras, and probably even some ferraris! Well..you'll only be slaughtering ferraris when you got vin diesel in the passenger seat.

Sorry guys, I'm bored. :smokin:

Don't forget the intake from ebay. Other mods include cutting the stocks shocks to about half the size to give you the lowered look. Also, for a cheap short shifter, just cut the stock shifter in half with a hacksaw, and use elmers glue to glue the shift knob back.

1. Hit the backspace on your browser
2. Look at top 3 threads
3. Click on "FAQ: What car to buy?"
4. Read to end

Once you have some ideas, go and test drive everything you can find, because that is the only way you will find what you are looking for.
