Jetta 2000 Airbag Warning light on

I recently had an episode with a couple of fuses being blown out... Dashboard, taillight, headlight.

I found the bad most of the bad fuses and fixed all of the problem except the airbag warning light....

Does anyone know which would be the fuse for the airbag system.

The light was off before the fuses blew out.... After I put in the new fuses the light came on.

OH I forgot to mention that the vechile in question is a VW Jetta GL 2000.

As I remember there are no fuses for the airbag system. The control module controls the power. The amp spike that caused the fuses to blow problably set a code in the airbag control module. Also low battery voltages can set codes in the airbag module also.

You need to reset the code stored in the ecu..

How do you reset the code on the ecu...?

ECU is engine control unit, you need the airbag module & that requires a VW or VAG-COM scanner.
