'70 chevelle convertable?

I went through the propper channels, and nothing came up with chevelle and convertable in the same thread, and I really don't have time to read the hundreds of threads that have chevelle in them.

so here is my question. has anyone attempted to change the maisto '73 chevelle convertable into a '70 by way of ERTL parts? I ask because I need to know if the parts are close enough in size and proportion to do this. they are both 1/18 scale and are both really nice kits, I just don't have them and don't want to spend $70 to find out my project is going to flop

maybe some of you that have the kits I speak of could do some comparison to see if it would be possible or tell me which kits I need to get to do this project.

as far as I can tell (and this is refferencing 1/1 car) the front bumper, headlights and surrounds, and grille need swapped. the rear bumper which already has the tailights in it, and the valance under the bumper should be swapped as well. I am not very concerned about the interior being swapped as I plan on doing a custom interior anyway.

a very serious thank you for any help that may come my way.

_Ken

Perhaps you mean a 1972, in contrast to the 1973? 1973 was a new generation Chevelle with a new body style. Just thought I could clear this up for you, however I have no answer to your question.

Are you aware that Lane makes the 1970 SS454 Chevelle in both a hardtop and a soft top? It costs on the higher end of the spectrum ($100 range) but it is well worth it.

rice, thanks for the info, but it is that exact reason, cost, that I an going to go the maisto route. I have seen the Lane models, and I like them alot, but unfortunately I cannot bring myself to pay that much for one.
