a few questions

okay i have a couple questions for anyone... first off i have this rattle in what sounds like the front left tire of my truck when i go over bumps at low or high sppeed.. it doesnt do it all the time just when i go over bumps
second i was wondering if anyone could tell me where to get a set of bucket seats that would fit into my 98 s-10 that would be fairly cheap
and third i am a fairly tall guy and i sometimes have trouble getting out of my truck cause the steering wheel i set so low...can anyone tell me how hard it would be the install a tilt steering wheel and where the best place to get one would be

Your rattle is probably from a loose or worn out shock

First Question : check if center cap is loose (if you have that type of rims). Check front end for loose parts. Check sway-bar Bushings on frame mount.(Thats something I need to do on mine.) alse had a loose shock bolt making some noise that needed to be snugged up
Second and third question : I woud go to the bone yard.If you buy new seats it will cost $$$.$$.

for the seats, go get a set of buckest out of a Cavalier or blazer from around 98, if you dont like the seats, seat covers are a godsend. and never tryed to install tilt steering, but i can only imagine it being a bitch to do, try a bone yard for that too

thanks for your help...i have looked and cant find any loose bolts or anything and the shocks look fairly new but ill take a look at it tomorrow..
so basically to find seats all i really need to look for is a smaller sized chevy vehicle around the same year and they will fit?..i dont want to have to make brackets for the seats to install them

well if you dont want to make brackets then go blazer, they will fit for sure, but cavalier should be close the scrap yard should know the pattern spread

it could be your hood making the noise.

how about seats from a 92 s-10 blazer...i have a friend who wrecked his and is parting it out...do you think that those would match up to my 98 s-10

about the steering columb. I had mine out yesterday, and it's probably about 1 hour to re & re but check to see if all the wire harneses are the same first. They should be if it's the same year, with all the same features

so how hard is it to change out a regular straight column for a tilt wheel?

im not worried as much about the tilt steering i would much rather spend my money on the seats and that stuff...i found a site for rangers and what seats will work with them...i was wondering if there was one like that for s-10s

It was actually pretty easy for me to switch steering columbs, the hardest part is disconecting the wires at the back, and plugging them back in.

I had to un-bolt the columb, and drop it down to reach all the wires.

I'm told that if you have an air bag don't rotate the columb (leave it locked) or it will affect the air bag.

If you dont use s-10 seats have a welder, and some scrap metal ready, along with a hammer, and drill. You'll have to make up special brackets.
I've done simular swaps like the 1 you want to do, and they're never a bolt in process.
