EPMD - Strictly Business
Slick Rick - The Great Adventures of Slick Rick
Big Daddy Kane - Long Live The Kane
Wu-Tang - Enter The 36 Chambres

lol back then we called Run DMC, Public Enemy, and Bestie Boys "RAP" (is that what hip hop is/was?). :grinno:

Geto Boys were my all time favourite - the album F@*% YOU! made N.W.A. sound like preppy choir boys. Geto Boys are hard core rap.

Yeah, I agree, we called that "rap" back in the day. When my friends and I went to the bars in the late '80s and early '90s hip hop was: Salt n Pepa, Tone Loc, Young M C , Queen Latifah, Cameo, Rob Base, M C Hammer, Heavy D and the Boyz, Sir Mix A Lot,oh and who couldn't forget "The Humpty Dance?" That was a more danceable hip/hop, just like rock has it's different types, ( hard, metal, pop, dance,) so did hip/hop with groups like Public Enemy and Geto Boys on one end of the scale, and Salt n Pepa, and Sir Mix a Lot at the other end.

Good to see his acting career taking off. Loved his "Friday" movies, and haven't seen his new one yet. Same goes for Ice-T . I like to watch him in Law & Order.

Yes they still are Hip Hop - However, between 1980 - 1983 they were hardcore punk.

I saw KRS One live in Wisconsin but I didn't have "Return of the Boom Bap" back then and I was pretty drunk so I don't remember that much - but I do remember himfreestyling and saying "Fuck Nelly!" Ha, that rocked.
