ok this is really confusing there are an array of choices in ever aspect...i just purchased a set of the edelbrock headers from 92rs and im dumbfounded as to which gaskets to get...what material do i get copper, graphite?? what thikness do i need or want??? and what kinda exaust ports does my 91 rs tbi have square, round, d port...etc...

You should be able to go to or call Autozone and they should be able to tell you what you need. I haven't tried them myself, but I've heard that copper gaskets are the best.

depends on your header pipes. If your headers have round ports, get round gaskets, if your headers have square ports, get square gaskets. always match the gasket to the header flange and not your heads.

thickness really only matters in head gaskets, with header gaskets, as far as material, i would go with some good copper gaskets.

ooohhh cause i was looking in summit online and even when i put in my car there are still hundreds of choices and it asks the thikness u want also

Dude , just go to autozone and get some Mr gasket copper header gaskets for the sbc v-8. like 15.00 a peice.

Isn't this because when they desigin exhaust manifolds and headers , they make then just a hair bigger than the actualy exhaust ports so it can flow as free as possible ?
