T3/T4 Turbo

I want to get a T3/T4 turbo put on my GSX but someone told me I wouldn't pass emissions with a external waste gate is this true? thanks

The answer is no, that's not true. There are two options with an external (and internal can be both also) wastegate: vented to atmosphere or recirculated back into the exhaust. Internals are stock recirculated through the o2 housing. Recirc it's like stock for emissions, no effect. Vented they will visually fail you for dumping exhaust into the air.

EDIT>> Oh and I forgot to tell you that you can get T3/T4 turbos internally or externally gated.

I'll also add that I have never come across an inspector that knew what the hell the dumtrube was, or asked about it. It shouldnt open during any of the tests naturally. And MA is anal about emissions. But if it is a concern, go with an external rerouted to the O2, or an internally gated turbo (less desirable) like Wagon said.
