v6 into a v8killer

I have a 2000 3.8 mustang convertible and i have a few mods like flowmaster exhaust, cold air intake and a 75 wet shot from ZEX ... its too cold for the track to be open so any thoughts on this vs. a v8

v8s are cheaper to mod and will make more power with less money, time, and effort. this to me easily offsets the slight weight disadvantage. a $500 nitrous system, along with a filter and underdrives, on nice tires, will kick the shit outta v6 cars with thousands in mods.

I think that pretty much sums it up. I mean if you throw enough money at it sure it can be done. Your gonna spend an ungodly amount to do it but anything is possible. My question is why?

well to answer why ... im guessing your not 19 and your insurance isnt out the ass rediculous... i tried to get a GT but they wouldnt insure it for to to drive ...well i couldnt afford it so i end up with a v6

Why is it that everytime someone modifies a V6 they get knocked for it? If that's what people want to do, then so be it!! I love Mustang Gt's however some people I know feel it's a waste of time to own one or modify it! So it just goes on and on!!

I think it's the fact that the Ford 3.8L V6 is not a particularly good engine to mod, but I agree, if what you have is a V6 then that's what you got to work with.

And I don't know about anybody else here but $3,500 for a supercharger a $500 nitrous kit, $500 for gears and the exhaust mods needed to support that kind of power plus tunning translates into an ungodly amount of money for sombody 19yrs old probably still in school. u know a supercharger alone on a stock mustang v6 can get it around 300 hp, however idk what the torque is like, so if he just did that he wouldnt be to bad off, of course for being in school and whatnot that a lot of money

tell me where your insurance cause i sure as hell pay more than you do .. i am under my parents insurance and i pay $2450 a year for insurance on a v6.. now tell me i can afford it on a v8

well i have ZEX, exhaust, and intake... but i cant afford a supercharger the rest i could manage... what about a 5.0 out of a 95 ... i have a friend that owns a salvage yard and he would give me the engine and tranny... how hard is that install

how 'bout this... don't get any tickets, get a classic mustang and pay next to nothing for insurance! Like me. Then spend all the money you saved on dropping a huge friggin motor in it, then throw a s/c on top of that, and run 9s. And no emissions to speak of! How bout dem apples?
