My friend and I are having a discussion about who would win in some races (all cars stock)...
1. 92 Eclipse GS vs 99 Civic Si
2. 92 Eclipse GS vs 94 Prelude VTEC
3. 92 Eclipse GS vs RSX (not Type S)
Thx!

I agree with your predictions. If the cars are stock, then it should be right.

what does the age of the car have to do with it?

non turbo eclipses are dogs, unless of course you put a star turbo kit on them.

the eclipse would IMO only win or have a chance against the civic.

you and your friend really need to start thinking about some better races Im sorry but come on thats just pointless to even ask
who would win this fight a 300LBS 6.5 guy that has been trained to fight or some 5.5 130LBS guy that has some pimples
lets do the same thing you did but flip it around
who would win this race
92 Civic DX VS a 92 Eclipes GST
96 Civic HX VS a 3000GT VR4
2001 Civic VS a 95 Eclipes GSX
do you see my point? you listed baseline cars for mitso and the top of the line honda cars
lets do a better match up
RSX VS a 95 Eclipes GSX
98 Eclipes GST VS a 99 Civic SI
S2000 VS a RX7 TwinTurbo
NSX VS a 3000GT VR4
who would win?

p.s the eclipes would have a chance with the Civic SI? thats such BS when my car was fully stock I raced a few Eclipes RS with intake exhuast and rims and have yet to lose to one
they are really dogs they should pull a nice high 17 to low 18 1/4 mile VS the civic SI at 15.5-15.8
I think its 108BHP at 2900LBS for the Mitsu VS 160BHP at 2600LBS for the SI
do the math and see if the eclipes has a chance

"and rims" ..................?
those add what, like 10 HP in addition to the intake and exhaust?
*possibly* a weight issue, but just the same thats doubtful, i dont imagine "rims" would weigh too much less (if not more) than stock rims (which the car was designed for) it would be nominal at best..
and *maybe* that would make some sense, if it was autocross racing or something..where you are actually taking corners and stuff that you benefit from less sidewall flex...........

Rims really do matter if your trans is setup for turning a tiny wheel/tire like my DX was it was tiny same goes for GS and RS wheels/tires
when most people put rims on there car they go with 17-18" "atlest around here" and what it does is really hurt how hard the car pulls I know becuase when I went from a stock wheel to just a 16" my DX felt around 1/4 slower Im not kidding it was to the point where before I could pull into 100 easy and after well lets just say it was sad
both weight and size factor in most people buy big rims so they wan't to save money by going heavy since its much cheaper
there for I had a honda DX with tiny wheels and was able to eat up Eclipes off the line and still ahead of them the whole time
and if I had my konigs on my car back then I think it would have been a close race
put it this way my car was so much slower to the point of after I put them on and drove it I started asking around for people to buy them they looked great but hurt my cars speed sooo much
now that I have a LS trans gearing its not a problem turning them
just think back to the days of having a 12 speed bike remember how easy it was to take off with the small gear VS the big one?

to answer the original question
1. 99 Si
2. 94 Prelude
3. RSX
no need to argue over it people.
And incase you cared..
92 Eclipse GS's have a 1.8L 92hp I4 motor.
If it is a GS 16V, then it has a 2.0L 135hp I4.
If it is a GS turbo then it has a 2.0 195hp I4.
Specifying the motor would be really helpful.

no need to argue over it people? well Im just trying to make a point that hes asking about a very bad car VS car race
what would win a Geo or a Viper Hmmmm let me think...
even the matches up and then you can have fun thinking about it
btw for the most part a eclipe GS will be beat by almost anything
GST/GSX now thats something to talk about

Well i beat a 94 GS with exhaust with my first honda, a 95 Integra LS.
And all those cars you paired against the Eclispse would beat an Integra LS
