mufflers!!!

ok i just replaced my oem mufflers with magnaflows and it doesn't sound louder at all. The tone is nicer but you can't hear it from far away at all. I do realize that there is resignators and cats. If i remove my resignators and just put a strait pipe in there will it make it louder or is most of the sound being robbed by my cats? i already spend $250 on my magnaflows and it didn't do much so i feel i need to do more or i just waisted 250 on something a tad bit louder then stock. The catback system was too pricey and i just wanted to improve the sound.

My LS has flowmaster catbacks on it. It is a lot louder than stock. Too loud for some. I love the rumble though. You can definately hear it coming. I think the system is a lot cheaper than magnaflows too.

i didn't install catbacks just mufflers. All i want to know is what else can i replace to get more sound out of it. For instance will removing my resignators and replacing it with pipe make it louder. Or must i replace my cats to make it louder?
