Code Questions

Hello everyone. I own a 1990 Buick Century w/3300 and i checked the computer last night because it started running like shit, but i got a 26 and 44, does ne1 know what these codes mean and how i can fix these problems. Thanks in advance.

You must mean the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)If you have a service manual that came with the car it should have the info on which numbers go to different code sensors. For example 24 on my car is Vehicle Speed Sensor and 44 is for oxygen sensor for exhaust. If you don't have a manual available you can buy or check out at the library Chilton's Auto Service Repair Manual (General Motors) and make sure it has the make, model and year on the cover before checking it out or buying to get accurate DTCs for your car. But codes usually means the computer is getting a register from somewhere in the vehicle that something isn't running a full capacity, something is faulty or one of the sensors need to be replace.

I own the same car wiht the same engine. The code 26 is for the Quad driver module circuit. Code 44 is for the Oxygen sensor or circuit-lean exhaust detected. Hope it's of some help. :smile:
