1992 F150 Advice Wanted

I have a 1992 F150 in relatively good condition. However, my gear shift is broken and I'm having difficulty locating one. I was told it would not be expensive to replace (expensive to me is over $200--parts & labor).

I live in Michigan and am moving to the East coast at the end of the month. A friend just asked me if the pickup were repaired would I drive it there. Honestly, to me, it's a gas hog. And driving and trying to park it in the big city for me would be a pain.

So this is the decision I need to make:
1) Repair it and keep it
2) Repair it and sell it
3) Just sell it

I appreciate any serious suggestions. I'm not auto mechanically inclined and would have to pay someone to do the work for me.

You are going to have to figure out if you have a fair amount of use for the truck after the move and if your willing to drive for the move. If not any you have the time and money, than sure fix it. If you don't than sell it as is for around 2500

you can go to ford dealer
and get the parts you need too fix it
it should cost 30.00 dollars in parts
it is the shift shaft that is bad
most people think you have to replace the colom, but you dont
drop the steering colum straight down and you will see the shaft.
fords that do alot of plowing have that problem,
