My front wheel bearings need replaced in my 2000 Blazer 2WD 2door model. I have searched everywhere and they are expensive, anywhere from $330-$500. Does anyone know of any aftermarket assemblies yet that are less expensive? Is it possible to replace the entire wheel assembly, ie, rotor, caliper, hub, from say a 4WD Blazer, as those bearings are replaceable and not near as pricey?

Any ideas???

You can get them for about 120.00 each at advance auto parts...

The rason they are so expensive is that they're sealed and they have the ABS sensor integrated into them

You can't use the bearings from the 4wd, but you can use the rotor, calipers

I read the instructions in Chiltons and it referred to repacking or replacing the bearings themselves. It never said anything about having to replace the entire hub assembly. I went to NAPA and got two outer bearings, two inner bearings, two new seals, and grease for $50. Everything I've been reading on this forum indicates I'll be in for a big surprise if I try to disassemble the hub to replace the bearings. Is this the case? I have a 99 2WD LT.

The front is a sealed unit and has to be replaced as an assembly. When you got your parts did you specify front? You probably got the rear wheel bearings.

This is a 4wd bearing for a 99/2000 blazer, The 2wd hub bearing for the 99 blazer isn't available in the aftermarket, dealer item only... (This comes from Grappler @advanced, no one carries the 2wd hub bearings)
