Is it possible to hook up my amp to a battery that my car isn't running off of. In other words can i have a battery just for my system

run a power wire from the positive of one battery to the other...

the follow up with the "big 3"
just run your system off the other battery...

i believe you should be fine as long as its not for comp... i think there are rules about electrical upgrades of sorts

you need an isolator for the 2nd battery, or else one battery will just drain the other one

that was my first actual response to a question that required a little bit of knowledge.

you can run parallel batteries, but it WON't do what he asked. You will have to use an isolator or diode setup or it won't isolate the primary battery from stereo battery.

hook them up you don't need the isolator I've done it multiple times.... as long as your not always running it w/ the car off you'll be fine
