I'm trying to reprogram my sisters '96 Blazer so that it will honk (beep) to confirm doors have been locked by the remote. Does anyone know how to get into the programming mode?

Not an option with the factory keyless entry system. It's not tied into the horn at all.

I have a 2000 Blazer LT with keyless entry. Even though I don't know how to program it my horn does beep when I lock the doors with the remote. The drivers door must be open and I would assume you have the security light on the dash? because this is a part of the security system.

You can easily make it so it honks. SImply tap the wire that sends the signal to the door locks (can't find my wiring diagram, you can get one for the keyless module from the dealer) and put on a relay, and diode (needed so when you honk your horn your doors don't lock/unlock, lol) and have your horn beep.

This is the procedure to program the remotes on the 96 Blazer:

Drop the lower driver side kick panel, you will see a red connector not connected to anything. (The black box you find is the actuall keyless entry unit) In the red connector you will see 2 pins.. Use something (such as a pair of needlenose pliers or paperclip) to connect the pins together. (This must be done with the door closed) The locks will cycle and you will be in programming mode. (maintain the connection on the pins) Press and hold the unlock button on the remote till the locks cycle again. Your remote is now programmed.. Below is a pic of the connector...
