Will This Cause Problems..

Hey guys, please i need to know this. You probably know my car has been having problems, here goes.

Tomorrow i pick up my car in which my mechanic is putting in a whole new radiator fan, and fan motor. It's brand new, everything cool. Now, my new MAF sensor is coming like the end of this week. The maf in my car now, is putting out VERY low voltage, and ofcoarse making the car want to stall @ low speeds-running alittle rough, but not to bad.

Can i drive my car with a pretty much broken MAF sensor..? Will this cause major problems..? If so, what problems, i know it tells the computers what air/fuel ratio and stuff-so i think it will cause some BAD effects.

Another thing, i was already driving my car for like 5 days, until i read up on cars/sensors, and realized my maf was bad-do you think this caused damage..?

Can't wait to drop in my new maf, go to autozone, have them flash the ecu and take off that damn check engine light :-)

Just to be safe, i'm waiting to get the sensor. Gonna have to drive my moms beater escort.
