Supercharger upgrades and fix

Anyone know of a good kit that would include a pully and chip for the TRD V-6 supercharger? Also, what about a kit to replace the nose drive? I have a 01 TRD supercharged 4Runner with 57000 miles, and the charger is starting to make alittle excessive noise. I am going to assume it is the nose drive, after reading Gadet's page

I called Magnuson, and the guy there told me I would have to take the nose drive off, and overnight it to him, and he would overhaul it. He didnt have any reconditioned units in stock, and told me that they dont ever have any in. He told me that if I didnt want a week of down time for the truck, I would have to order a new nose drive from TRD. Not too bad at $170 MSRP, but still wouldnt be in for 3 days. :screwy: I still cant seem to find any info about a pully and chip combo made for this application either... it would be sweet to have alittle extra boost with a few simple bolt ons.....

IMHO a pulley is a bad idea unless you already have serious engine mods that'll hold up to the extra pounds of boost. I would do the whole fuel system before anything else, if you haven't already.

The stock ECU is not reprogrammable, so you have to replace it which usually is more expensive. Some chip companies (cant remember the name) will have you tell them your engine setup and what you want out of the chip in terms of power curves and such and will custom tailor it to your application.

Ok, So, for those who read these for their own knowledge, and self help...

The excessive noise from the supercharger was not too bad. The bearing inside the belt tensioner were starting to wear out. If your supercharger was dealer installed like mine, then dont worry about what those idiots at the dealership told you. The TRD supercharger carries a 60K, 5 year warranty, if installed by a certified dealer. If not, I am sure that the guys at TRD can help you out. I took Gadget's advise, and when the dealer replaced the tensioner, they put a new belt on too, and I took the old belt, and stowed it away for that rainy day that everyone hates to find....
