Bonneville Starter Replacement

I have a 95' Bonneville SSE (150K-great car!) with a bad starter. I was planning on replacing it myself, but I'm wondering if I'm biting off more than I can chew? I got down and started to take the bad starter off, and it appears that there is some sort of cover or shroud surrounding it? At any rate the bolts didn't look at all accesable. I've heard horror stories about having to disconnect motor mounts and such to replace components, and I don't have the time or tools to do anything like that. Has anyone ever undertook this endevor, and how bad was it? Thanks!

We changed the starter on our 1995 Bonneville. Yes there is a plastic guard in the way to remove the starter. I looked at it and could find no way to remove the starter and that guard intac short of removing the frame cross memeber. So we ended up busting up the plastic guard just to get the starter out. I did not put all of the plastic guard back in. I just made sure the bell housing where the flywheel is exposed was covered so nothing could get in there. I was told you can get teh plastic part to replace it but I did not look into it.
