Checking Power Steering Fluid / Is there an easier way?

Hi, we own a 1998 Park Avenue with the 3800 Series II engine, and my question is there an easier way to check the power steering fluid? I mean my P/S cap is by the firewall, and it is way down, and it is a nightmare to get to it, besides burning your hands when the engine is hot. Do they make some sort of extension adater that can screw on the pump so you are able to check the fluid more easier? I think the design is horrible. My 92 Pontiac Bonneville has the pump way up high and it is so easy to get to, but it has the 3800 first design.
Anybody got any suggestions?
