Why do this?
#1 some of the fastest dsm's are auto's(yes stick is more fun..but is fun worth that much when you could use that money for an auto rebuild)
#2 gonna cost almost as much or more than the car did
#3 there are plenty 1g turbo 5sp out there for sale
#4 if you did do this...you will prob end wanting awd too...then what!
just think it over and search this topic for info on it if you are truly interested

If you can find a car thats been wrecked or the motor blew on and can get the tranny cheap then your in luck. Unfortunatly the tannys are getting harder to find and will still usally cost you a good deal.
If you buy everything new its going to cost you an arm and a leg. So I highly recommend against that unless your loaded.
My honest advice would be to check JYs in the state and see if you can find a car, if not just drive the auto and keep checking every month or so until you come across one.
As said before the Auto can be just as fast if not faster than the manual if you have one it good shape.
I'm planning to do this myself but I've already got a Laser to gut for the tranny since its motor is basically beyond repair. Still need to pick up a new clutch though.
