I have a 92 S-10 Blazer and i need some new shocks. My right rear shock i guess blew and oil is leaking out of it. My machanic said the shocks on it now appear to be original.........i find that hard to believe. Anyway....everybody has there recommendations on shocks from rancho to elderbrock. I want a good shock for highway driving without the stiffness.... yet i do go offroad every winter. Any suggestions as to a good all-around shock for my purpose?

Bilstein shocks are among the best although pricy.
I also like KYB, but they'll stiffen up your ride.
Pretty well any shock with a lifetime warranty if better than stock.
your mechanic is probably right they are probably the origional shocks. I know someone with a 85 Nissan pickup with 600,000km (400,000 miles) on it with the origional shocks still working like new

I recently replaced the shocks on my "91 S-10 4X4 with Monroe Reflex shocks. Price was about $45.00 each. Gave my truck a nice comfortable, yet firm ride. Very happy with them.

I got monroes on my '95, like them a lot. Don't get Rancho, they suck a big one. Didn't last long and were really stiff
