reastically speaking, how much whp can a U.S. spec 2.0 wrx motor take before it gives out, I've been hearing taht these things have problems makign it past 300whp before they pop. Same question for a 2.5 sti motor. thanks. :sunglasse

Doesn't the WRX use a 2.5L?

No, a WRX has a 2.0

A WRX STI has a 2.5

sti highest hp before you need to change internals (pistons, rod, crank) is about 450hp that is the highest hp while staying safe

It really depends on *how* you make your 300hp. Without changing internals, 300 is about the limit. With swapped internals, though, the ej20t has been known to get up into the 400s and 500s. Be aware that pretty much the only remaining part in that kind of engine is the block, though.
