1993 Accord Door Lock Problem

I installed a new pair of speakers in the front doors of my car. The passenger side went smoothly, no problems. The drivers side however now has a problem with the door lock. I spent almost an hour trying to fix it with no luck. The problem is the plunger won't go down or come up when I push/pull on it. The only way the plunger works smoothly is if I hold the inside door handle open and then the plunger moves freely. Also, from the outside when using a key to unlock/lock the door, it's fine, no resistance. I don't understand what happened, I mean it worked fine before. Any help would be appreciated, thank you

when the door is open the lock button cannot be pushed down. You either have to hold up the outside handle or the inside handle. I don't really know if this is what your experiancing, if not give us a little more detail.

Yes, like a dummy I forgot about that. No wonder the stupid thing wouldn't go down, it's not supposed to. Saves you from locking your keys in your car.

On a related note, I have an alarm on this car (Code Alarm), not sure if it's a crummy alarm or a decent one, anyways it will arm the system and lock all the doors except the driver door, is there anyway to make it lock the driver's door as well. It's a pain to arm it and an then manually lock the driver door. The assumption is that if you have your alarm, then 99.9% of the time you'd have your keys with it, right?

Hmm im not to familiar with that alarm but i think that if the alarm locks one it should lock them all. I wasn't aware of one that only locks the passenger door. Could be totally wrong though.
