Blower motor won't stop

I found my blower running at high speed this weekend without the car running or the keys in the ignition, they were in my hand as I approached the car. The car had not been running for 24 hours and I know the blower hadn't been running a couple hours earlier as I had walked by the car.
What could cause this and how do I fix it?

Help!!!

according to a sticker on my blower it says that the fan may run continously if the metal housing is grounded in any way. I'd check for that first.

I have had the same problem as you. It has happened 3 times in the past year and a half. I thought it was related to my remote starter; however, after reading your post I am not the only one having the trouble. Randomly my car's high blower will be on and drain my battery. I think once, all the dash intruments were on too, like the key was in the on position. A few days ago my resistor blew and had to replace that, hopefully that will clear up the problem. In the meantime I just bought a Priotity Start battery drain protector as my only savior; I'll put it in in a few days. Any help on this subject is greatly appreciated, I hate going to my car and hearing the blower running and not being able to start my car.

I just started having the same problem with my 1999 Intrigue. Did you find a fix to your problem? If so, what was it?

Thank you

So, the motor was just running non-stop and I was pulling a fuse, i forget the exact one, every time I would shut the car off. The more I read about it I learned that if any piece of metal touches it, it will cause a short and the motor will run. So I was going to go out with my voltmeter and check, I put the fuse in, it sparked more than ususal and the motor stopped. It has been running fine ever since. Don't know what I did.
Good luck!!
