non-working radio

My mom has a 94 mark VIII and the radio or cd player has no sound, the scan stops to a station but we cannot hear anything what is wrong with this picture and we would prefer to keep the factory setup.

could be one of many things. Lose connector, blown fuse, blown speakers, blown wires. The only way to find out is to take it apart.
