I was looking around ebay and was trying to decide on which company's car to buy.
So I was just wondering what you all prefer
I guess the most popular ones would be
Maisto
Hotwheels and
Motomax
Which company do you like most?? (doesn't have to be from those 3)
Thanks
Mike

a good company depends on what you want.
value: Maisto, Bburago, YatMing (road signature series), UT
Quality: Auto Art, GMP, Biante, Classic Carlectables, Kyosho
Hot wheels i cant comment on, but Motor Max cars (their Skyline is all i've seen so that is what i base my comments on) are nicely moulded, but have ugly engines, interiors, and wheels.
i'd recommend Maisto, Bburago and YatMing, all around $30 and nicely moulded with decent details. (only buy YatMing road Signature series, DO NOT BUY THEIR ROAD TOUGH SERIES CARS THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND COST ABOUT THE SAME AS THE BETTER SERIES)

It all depends...I modify mine, so I dont sped $80 on an AA model. Just buy a crappy Maisto, or MotorsMax and make it look like an AA model.

UT is the best company when it comes to looks and form.
Their models are awesome, and when it comes to body design, actually better than Autoart(which is UT nowadays).
UT, Autoart, Kyosho and Exoto are all exellent manufacturers with awesome detail.
But both Hotwheels and Maisto are very good thinking what you get for your $$.
Bburago is mostly out of scale and I would not recommend those models.
Lately many of the "lower" quality makers has really get a hold of themself.
Even MotorMax surprised me with their 1:18 Zonda who was actually quite nice for a $15 piece!

Great, thanks guys, that helps
I guess I should say that I'm not getting the models for modifying, I basically want good quality models (bang for buck) that I can just display.
I want it to look real, not plastic-ie/fake
But yea, thanks for the help, I'll look into those other companies, but I guess there's really no difference between hw and maisto??
I can just buy the cheaper of the two??

HW suck compared to maisto in my opinion. The wheels on a Hot Wheels Ferrari i had were tiny compared to the wheels on a real Ferrari. not much detail, and just cheapy. Get maisto

maisto for cheap and they have a lot of models out and easy to mod

Well it appears that you have forgotten about Jada Toys. I prefer them over anything else, but I have been know to pick up cheaper and more expensive models. I choose Jada because I know the designers, I like the style and appearance of the diecasts, and they are pretty cheap.

It would be cool if car companys gave the rights out these diecast car companys and started making model cars of anything you want. Like i could have an infiniti G35X or a Trailblazer LTZ

1/12: Tamiya, Kyosho, Autoart. (The rest are too expensive)

depends where you live, here AutoArt's cost from $80 to $120.
Biante and Classic Carlectables are the best i've seen (in real life, not an internet site) they are very detailed both in and out and have working parts (their Chrysler Charger has working windows from the winder) they are 1/18. their only problem is that they have bugger all range.
they arent cheap, but if you want quality, go for it.

here AutoArt's cost from $80 to $120.
i noticed alot of the australian, brittian, and japs sites have outrageous prices for Aa models. something that sells for $60 (eg. maybach57), here in the usa, is like $100plus overseas. canadians sites are alittle better.
