I'm an owner of a lovely 1997 aurora. Only it has a problem with with the traction control and ABS lights remaining on. The lady I bought the car from said she replaced the speed sensor but it didn't work. The lights still remained on. Thats it? Thanks for any help!

I would suggest getting the codes scanned. If the code is for the speed sensor that was replaced there may be an issue in the cable harness. My right rear harness actually turned to dust in certain parts when I started messing with it due to heavy corrosion.

My valve body had to be replaced because one of
the solenoids went bad in it. I was able to pull
the connector of the ABS computer, near the
master cyllinder, and measure the appropriate pins
on the harness to see if each solenoid was still
intact. The shop manual walks you through this.
However, the codes will be set, so if you are not
electrically inclined, and don't want to get way
down into the engine compartment to change the
abs valve body, go to the dealer.

1. Scan for codes.
2. Ensure sensor connection from WSS on the wheels are connected.
3. You may have a bad ETCBM (electronic traction control brake module...ie the brake computer)
If the WSS/hub has been changed then I recon its the ETCBM
I've had this happen, replaced the computer for $125 CDN at a wrecker yard. OE price $1100 CDN
Good luck.
