Hello, I bought my son a 99' Eclipse, when we tried the radio it said code on the front. The used dealer pressed the eject button and it started working but would only stay on for 30 seconds and then shut off and ask for code again. He sent me the code Monday but now when you turn it on it doesn't say anything. I've tried leaving the key on for a couple of hours, nothing. I took the ground off the battery overnight, nothing. I then took the Hot off the battery overnight, still nothing. How can I get it to unlock so I can put the code in.
Please help, now my son wants a new stereo,
Any help appreciated, and thanks in advance.
This is one cool site and very informative too.

you have to get it to reset.
to do this you have to leave the car on until with the radio on or off, i believe its off. after about an hour it will reset and then you input the code. if it locks you out again, then your fucked.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT CODE!!!!!

the code for the CD player is on the cd player itself. you will have pull the cd player out and the code is on the top of the cd player. then you will have to hook it up again and reinput the code. kinda of a pain in the butt, but its better than having a nice new cd player stolen like in my car.

Thanks, but I already tried leaving the key on for about two hours, with the radio off. The radio won't come on, the screen is blank all the time. It is getting power to the radio, I checked it with a check light. It lights up when you turn on the lights, but won't turn on.
thanks,
