When i let the engine idle, it seems like it has a miss to it, but when i get it up to higher RPM's it runs great. i have tried many different things and still no luck. The timing is set right, and there are no vacuum leaks that i am aware of.. also replace the 2 coolant sensors. the one that goes to the computer as well as the one to the dash.. if anyone has any ideas out there please help me... you can leave me a msg on here, or on my yahoo msgr.. S/N reaper__69 or e-mail me. [email protected]

Check and clean the idle air control motor. The valve on the end is probably dirty and causing it to idle rough. Not sure what year car you have but on most of the newer cars this will solve the probelm very easily at little or no cost. To clean it simply remove it, spray with carb. cleaner, allow to dry and replace on the car. Takes just a few minutes to do and will probably solve your idle problem.

I had the same problem with my 1999 Olds Alero a couple days ago....

The mechanic replaced a split line leading into my intake, and now its all good... the diagnostic was $50, plus $30 for parts and labor

Does it also hesitate when you step on the gas from a stop? It may be the ignition coil housing.

Where is the idle air control motor, is it on the intake, because I'm having the same problem.

Thanks

It depends on the engine but the IAC motor is usually located on the throttle body. If you let me know what size engine you have I will get back to you with the location.

It should be located on the side of the throttle body. Clean it with throttle body cleaner and do not move the pintle when you are cleaning it.
