I think my tranny fluids for my 5spd teggy is well overdue. Honda recommends me to used there genuine Manual Tranny Fluid. I was wondering if there's any other kind of synthetic tranny fluids or additives out there that i can use rather than Honda's?

Synthetic trans fluid is bad for Honda transmissions use the honda fluid. There was a thread about this not to long ago if you search you should be able to find it

synthetic oil in the tranny = bad news.

My integra manual recomends 10w-30 motor oil.

ITS ALWAYS THE BEST TO USE WHATEVER HONDA RECOMMENDS..

if you use 10W-30 motor oil in your tranny your gears are more likely to grind. you should use honda tranny fluid FROM the dealer. and if you race or 'try to race' your honda, then you should swap your fluid every couple oil changes with oem tranny fluid

OEM tranny fluid is 10w- 30 hate to tell you. labels are amazing aren't they?

and to tell you the truth i would use quaker state 10w-30 over honda 10w-30 any day of the week. for the same reasons i would drive a honda car over a quaker state car any day of the week.

Okay, I bow down, when I go to the dealership the bottles actually say 'honda manual transmission fluid' I am sorry. I thought they would be different. they 'may' work just the same, i was just relating my experiences
