Interior swap

Just curious if anyone out there has ever tried swapping out the old style interior(dash and door panels) for the newer style(I think its 97+), I know there is the obd change and I am kinda guessing that all the parts would fit but that the instrument cluster may not work correctly, or would have to be wired up by hand possibly?...

Any replies appreciated!
