Z71 = 4x4 w/ better shocks than regular 4x4.
3" body lift ~$300-350
4" Suspension lift ~$1200-1600? Suspension lifts for this truck are pricey because they generally require a subframe. 6" kits generally don't cost much more than 4".
Labor will cost you an arm and a leg on a lift, that is, unless you plan on doing it yourself. A body lift can be done in an afternoon, a suspension lift will take a couple of days, IMO.

The 3" price he listed is for a body lift and the 4" price is for a suspension lift.

Yeah, you don't really see many, if any, suspension lifts that are less than 4". Likewise, I haven't seen many body lifts over 3".
The body lift just puts spacers between the frame and the cab/cargo box, whereas the suspension lift actually raises it up using springs/lift blocks/a subframe.
It seems to me that a body lift might be kind of unsafe in an accident, what with bolts having more leverage on them and all. Just a thought. Of course this isn't to say that accidents are safe to begin with =).

6" suspention lift $1500, installed myself
315/75 16 bfg tires and american racing aluminum rims $1800 for 5, installed myself
if you do a suspention might as well do a 6" it is almost the same amount of work

Body lifts generally are used to bump up a tire size or two, mostly for aesthetics. Suspension lifts are more functional and definitely a bit more expensive. A body lift kit is generally $200-$300 while suspension kits usually go for $1200 and up. Labor is expensive on both. I've got a 6" ProComp suspension lift on my z71. I'm still running 33" tires(285/75/16) as i am waiting for the tires to wear down a little more before replacing them with 35" tires. You can check out some pics here: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/660426

Storm's truck also appears to be a little higher than airjam's because it is the 3/4-ton, which is higher to begin with.

storm what kind of tires are those. could u explain what rubbing means. so all u have to do to get a suspension kit is buy the kit online or at a store and get it done at like a exhaust place?

My buddy has a 99 Silvy with a pro-comp 6" lift, 18's and 36"ers. Slight rub when turning but not much. Rides pretty nice too.

storm442, you got a beautiful truck. Nothign look sas good as an HD with a lift. The heavy duties will always look bigger no matter if its chevy, ford, or dodge because the heavy duty's come with a thicker frame. i've seen stock trucks that are nearly as big as mine. Another thing is that it is important to remember that EVERY truck is different. Could be the same make and model but they each come a little different and after time they wear differently. One of my buddies has the same truck as myself and is running 36" tires with a 6" lift and torsion bar crank. Another friend with the same truck could only fit 35" on backspaced rims without rubbing.
3kgt95 : "rubbing" refers to the tires rubbing up against steering or bumper components when turning due to too large a tire or lack of backspacing on the rim.

Yes, you can get one. Look on e-bay. They usually have lots of them.
