Hey guys. My girlfriend has a 98 Grand Prix and the heater just stopped working yesterday. What could cause this?

I believe he meant t-stat. Your thermostat is probably stuck closed.

But if my thermostat was stuck closed, then it would still blow out air, just not warm air. Her heater blows out NO air at all. I think most car heater's are wired direct for the heater, so there is no fuse. I could be wrong, but I am leaning towards the blower motor maybe.

Have the very same issue - parked car at airport - very cold weather for 3 days and no blower motor. Made it difficult to get home. Next day still no blower motor, then after filling up with gas the blower motor comes on. So far it has been hit and miss.... wondering about the circuit board above the blower motor... anyone else have this issue?

Since we seem to have problems with water/moister getting into the HVAC box,it could be freezing up the bushing for the motor and causing it not to spin.Might be time to pull the fan motor and clean & lube it up.

Okey;
first; when your fan motor doesnt work, with the heater on high, go and pop the hood. get a wrench or something to tap on the heater housing ,usually on the firewall of the car on the right side(where the fan motor is located)
a few times. if it kicks on, this is a sign that your fan is wore out. You can get a new one at Advance Auto or Auto Zone for 20 to 30 $$

OK I've been watching mine alot closer. Seems that when I start the car and it's cold 6-10 degrees and wait for it to warm up I mean running temp 180-220 shut the car off and restart it my blower motor will operate normally no missing speeds etc. I have noticed that the light on the display seems to act a little funny. Still seems like it has the potential to be the stupid little circuit board? My other vehicle is down at the moment so as soon as I can I will have my circuit board replaced to see if that does the trick.
