Stealth TT/VR4 performance differnces??

Are there ne performance differnces in a VR4 than stealth TT. The stealth are like half to a quater of the price of a vr4. with them being that cheap i could do a 99 VR4 front end/wing conversion and solve the looks issue. I know they both are twin turbo/awd and almost the same car save for looks. So is the $$ differnce in performanc?? or just that the 3000gt has more recongnition.

I dont either. The closest VR4 is in lousiville and its 12,998 the nearest TTstealth is like lexington and its 4,998. Both are 94 and both say good condition. Other prices for TTs were 5,6,8 so u get the just. Btw all locations are in KY.

I Think I'm gonna need to fly to KY soon.

The vr4 has a few slight extra features that a stealth TT wouldn't...such as active aero, 4 wheel steering, etc. These don't make a different in performance as far as power and race times...
Without these, the Stealths are a bit lighter...not much but a bit, and generally run a bit cheaper.

I did NOT know that the RT/TT's didn't have AWS.... Sweet.

thats why they are bout 30lbs lighter. Killer i think i'm sold on a 94 stealth 320hp 305lbs toque. Is the faq correct on the the part that say the first mods to get could get u 400hp and put me in the 12s?? Its like McDonalds "i'm Lovin It"

yeh and also it might be aded that the stealth tt did cost alot less than the 3000gt did when they were new. if i remember correctly the price for a tt stealth new in 1996 was 33k $ but the price on a vr-4 was 44k $

If i decide to go for the stealth idk i might trade/sell but it all depends. The car is co-owned between my mother and me so i would have to get her say on nething. But she is looking for a vette so i don' see her caring.

The FAQ is correct. However, you'll want to make sure the car has been well taken car of. Though that first group of modifications can get you close to 400hp, its always a bit different from car to car.

Great that would defintly beat the socks of nethign around here. The getrag tranny that is 3kgt isn't that the same tranny used by Porsche in there 911s if so that means the gears are crossed at 3 and beyond no wonder the cars are so fast at and after 3rd.

in my opinon the stealth/3000gt are the best in their class. i mean the supra is wery powerfull and equaly as good looking but it's way to expensive and the 300zx is also wery powerfull but its looks are way to 80's and (in my opinon) the car just looks so dated. even today i culd swear my car is not a year older than 1999!

the stealth/3000 gt is a good buy so if you are thinking of changing a vehicle then these are good. my only problem with the car is that the inside is COMPACT there is wery litle room both for the luggage(sterio) and the passingers (lets face it the rear seats are only for show. and head room is to small for my likings (i am 6 foot 1")

The space thing is no biggy for me that camaro doesn't have much at all currently no trunk space. Custom speaker box holding 2 12's. aslong as i can put 2 12s in the stealth i'm set. Right now i stand at 6ft flat.

Old and good. I have a friend who drives a 92 VR4. He is 6' 8" and about 330lbs. You are not having near the space issues he has.;)

Dreamspawn, I have two 12's in a bandpass box in my Stealth. RIght now I just have the rear seats folded down but am gonna do a custom two seat conversion. 2 12's will definitely fit.

What is the stock bottom end rated for? Just trying to get a idea of how much i can push b4 i have to really tear into it.

You would have to upgrade olt of power mods before you need to tear into the engine itself. The car came stock with a forged crankshaft and forged rods. The pistons arent forged but the way they are made makes them almost as strong.

Thats nice. I wonder how much money it would take to get into the 10s. I know i have a vid of a guy with a 1st gen 3kgt at 10.75.

Thats probably Matt Monet. He owns Dynamic Racing and is a god among men when it comes to driving these cars to there fullest potential. He does alot of stuff on stock internals too.;)

Too much for me (even though green is my favorite color). My rule if thumb is if it dosent look like it COULD be stock then it dosent belong on the car. But thats me and I'm an elietist lol.

I personally Like the green too, Dreamspawn, did u see the thread a while a back I forget someone wanted a 91 VR-4 or somthing, but at any rate it had a metallic red color, which I think mite look nice if your looking into red.

the only problem with the green is finding a place that sells that color.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting the cops attention...if you get a vr4 you already have their complete attention...bright green or not.

Theres a 3k on 3si that is almost that exact same color. It doesnt look bad, but on my car it kinda doesnt flow. But finding the color shouldnt be a problem. Any paint shop can hook you up.
