Looking at the purchase of a 2000 v6 Camaro for my son.
it has 95000 miles, seems to be a strong car.
Any recommendations.

no specific known problems with the cars, just a general checkover of the car. Ask what kind of driving it was used for. and if they can verify that it recieved regular maintenience. 100,000 miles is nothing for these cars so long as they have been properly taken care of.

Can those 6's really handle that much ? I'd say a much better improvement from the 80's - early 90's v-6's that killed out before 100K. I've been thinking about getting a 4th gen with a 6 in it just for the hell of it but I don't want one that's going to kill out at a 100K. Plus , hows the fuel usage on those vrs the 8's? I know today everything is different and better or whatever but does the 8 still eat up like 4 times the gas as the 6?

well GM engines are just really pickey about being taken care of, they are kinda attention sluts. But if you do treat them right, ive seen many engines surpass the 200,000 mile mark. some go up to the 500,000 mile mark. with no rebuild. granted its rare, but thats because people rarely treat the engines as they should be.

Racism wasn't appreciated. I happen to be partial japanese and "close that rice hole" isn't such a nice thing to say to someone. Rather insulting.

I don’t believe in the concept of racism.... my comment was not racially bias.... you made it racial..... so now who’s the damn racist?!

Racism wasn't appreciated. I happen to be partial japanese and "close that rice hole" isn't such a nice thing to say to someone. Rather insulting.I think you know very well that wasn't meant as a racist comment, not mention the fact you found the need to point out your partially asian as to explain why it would be racist but knowing full well he didn't know that about you. Also I can point out maybe one million posts using the term ricer, how come this is the first post you found the need to attack as being racist. Also you have the ability to not pay attention or not view this thread or the direction it is heading and while you have made your opinion known its not up to you to police this forum and this forum is filled with mostly young guys and from time to time it gets little vulgar as any forum would. If you don't like it don't read it.

what options does it have?
PW, Air, PS, T-TOP (doesn't leak, I took it to the car wash).
Not all options but not a "Plan Jane".
Took you guys advise and had my mechanic take a look.
No problems, good compression (don't know what it was but machanic said it was good for that many miles), need brakes.
I purchased this morning for 6800.00.
I think I will have one happy 16 yr. old this afternoon.
thanks again.
